Tasks and Functions

Department functions:

• representing the interests of the Central Bank on issues of interaction with international financial institutions and organizations, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank Group (WBG), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) ), Islamic Development Bank Group (GIBR);

• establishment, expansion and coordination of relations of the Central Bank with central banks of foreign countries, financial institutions of foreign countries, representative offices of foreign banks and organizations located on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• elaboration of issues and organization of work to attract technical assistance from international financial institutions, central banks of foreign countries in the field of improving the activities of the Central Bank and developing the country's banking and financial sector;
• coordination of the activities of the Central Bank within the framework of intergovernmental and interdepartmental commissions (committees) and subcommissions (subcommittees), as well as interstate integration departments, etc .;
• jointly with interested subdivisions, development, coordination with state bodies and implementation of procedures for signing draft intergovernmental and interstate agreements, agreements of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan with central banks of foreign countries, foreign financial institutions, etc .;
• participation in the development (approval) of projects of interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements, agreements with IFIs and other international organizations, in terms of the Central Bank;
• interaction with the International Monetary Fund on issues of ensuring the fulfillment of financial obligations and mutual settlements;
• coordination and organization of the work of ministries and departments on the annual missions of the IMF under Article IV of the Fund's Charter and the preparation of the IMF's Annual Report on Exchange Regimes and Currency Restrictions (AREAER);
• coordination of the work of the Central Bank with the Ministry of Finance on the issues of maintaining accounts and settlements on obligations to international financial institutions, on their accounts with the Central Bank;
• monitoring the fulfillment by the Central Bank of obligations under concluded agreements (contracts, agreements) with international organizations;
• accreditation of representative offices of foreign banks;
• preparation, on the basis of information provided by the divisions of the Central Bank, materials for publication in the media and on the official website of the Central Bank;
• development of a calendar for the publication of data and information materials on the official website of the Central Bank and control of its implementation;
• making proposals for improving the content and graphical interface of the official website of the Central Bank;
• organizing and conducting public speeches of representatives of the Central Bank (press conferences, interviews, etc.);
• consideration of applications and requests of national, foreign information agencies and the media to assist in the preparation of materials on the activities of the Central Bank;
• analysis and informing the management about the state of public opinion and the position of national and foreign mass media regarding the activities of the department;
• preparation of responses to inquiries of national and foreign mass media on the basis of information provided by the responsible divisions of the Central Bank;
• study of materials published by national and foreign media concerning the activities of the Central Bank, and informing the management of the Central Bank;
• maintaining the page of the Central Bank in social networks;
• preparation, on the basis of materials submitted by the divisions of the Central Bank, information to be posted on the State Portal;
• study of international experience in the field of effective communication policy;
• scheduling and organizing meetings at the Central Bank;
• organization of visits of foreign delegations to the Republic of Uzbekistan and visits of the Central Bank delegation abroad, escort of delegations;
• organization of an unofficial program during the visits of foreign delegations arriving for the purpose of visiting the Central Bank;
• coordination of the work of the relevant divisions of the Central Bank for the organization and conduct of meetings and visits of foreign delegations;
• organization of visa support for representatives of foreign states and international organizations arriving for the purpose of visiting the Central Bank;
• organization of seminars, conferences with the participation of international organizations and foreign banks;
• correspondence with ministries and departments within the framework of the functions assigned to the Department;
• collection, summary and analysis of statistical information and information on issues within the competence of the Department;
• participation in the preparation of the annual report on the activities of the Central Bank, in terms of international cooperation;
• making proposals for improving the qualifications of employees of the Central Bank based on the results of negotiations with international organizations, foreign central banks and financial institutions and others;
• development and submission of proposals for the improvement of acts and other documents of the Central Bank, as regards the activities of the Department
